Functional Nutrition

As a Functional Nutrition Counselor and Consumer Health Advocate my passion is to provide you with tools and information that will help you to achieve and maintain optimal wellness.

My approach is comprehensive and compliments any existing health care program. Essential nourishment isn’t just what feeds you physically, but is also about how you nourish yourself mentally and emotionally.  Consultations take all of these factors into consideration. Applied Functional Nutrition Programs include dietary modifications as well as specifically focused short-term whole food supplement protocols.

**Consultations by email are also available using various online assessment tools. Call or email for details.

Why Check Key Nutrients?
  • Vitamin C is crucial to the health of the immune system, vascular system and connective tissue, as well as a powerful antioxidant. Stress depletes Vitamin C via the adrenal glands.
  • Calcium is essential for many cellular functions including blood coagulation, bone and teeth rigidity, acid-base balance, lactation, activating enzymes, and for the function of nerves and muscle.
  • Iodine is an integral part of the thyroid hormones, and helps the thyroid gland function properly. All cells in the body need iodine for proper functioning. All glands (thyroid, adrenal, etc.) especially need iodine for the production of hormones. Iodine levels in US soil have fallen 50% over the past 50 years creating a severe deficiency. The Great Lakes region has some of lowest soil iodine levels in the world. Some experts believe that this results in high levels of cancers related to iodine deficiency.(breast, ovarian, uterus, prostate).
  • Zinc plays a vital role in immune function. It is integral in the formation of insulin and also helps prevent birth defects, enhances sensory perception and accelerates healing. High stress lifestyles including lack of proper sleep, deplete zinc.
